Middle school.
Moms, how to parent just got more challenging.
You know middle school is a lot more than books, tests, and grades. Friendship, dating, bullies, exclusion, popularity, cliques, independence, mean girls, hormones, attitudes, peer pressure, drama…yikes! A new social world is opening up to your child.
As a mom, this new territory can be tricky for you to navigate, too. You want to help your child, but it’s difficult knowing when to “step in” and when to “step out” of your child’s social experience.
I’m Michelle Icard, creator of the social leadership curriculum Athena’s Path (for girls) & Hero’s Pursuit (for boys). For the past ten years I’ve been guiding kids, their caring parents, and innovative schools through the complex middle school years.
I’m here to help. In addition to curriculum that you can bring to your school, I host monthly mom Meetups, provide cool summer camps for middle schoolers, conduct coaching for kids and moms by Skype and provide periodic mother-daughter conferences.
Imagine a life where…
- your son comes to you for support but strives to solve his own problems
- your daughter consistently steps up to leadership opportunities and steps out of social drama
- you feel confident in helping your child navigate this new social world
- you and your child together find that no problem is unsolvable
Check out my blog and join my email list (entry form to your right) to receive more advice and my exclusive Problem Solving Path, a step by step guide you can use to help your middle school child to solve any problem.
Michelle in the Middle is where it all starts. Here you’ll find expert resources, timely insights, and a fun place to take a break from your busy day. Plus, I promise, I will never roll my eyes at you.
